Solar Power Information
Solar Power For Your Home is not just about comparing your utility bill with how much power your solar system can provide. Some questions to ask are: what quality of a solar cell do you want to buy? What does your local or state government say about incentives? And how would your power company treat the excess energy you produce?

Solar Power For Your Home has a lot of ins and outs to consider before you buy.
1. Where do you live? Location is important for the concern of daylight hours. Not so much as "will it work" But how much daylight does your area recieve. Where overcast days don't produce as much as clear skies the bottom line is a photovoltaic system will work.
2. How much are you willing to spend. If you have any mechanical or electrical knowledge this is a real cost cutter for any solar power installation. The mechanical ability you should require is centered around home construction. The electrical knowledge is focused around simple DC circuits.
3. Will you use a dependent energy source meaning will you tie to the electric grid? Or are you in a remote location and would benefit from an independent system. Both have benefits and both have their draw backs. You should decide which is better for you and your energy needs.

Solar Panel: How it works

Renewable energy sources like solar are becoming increasingly popular as fossil fuels become more expensive to find and mine. This cost is passed on to consumers and in some cases, it is now more sensible to install solar panels, rather than using the electricity from the grid. In regions like California, it is logical not only in terms of cost, but it is the ideal climate for solar energy creation. This article covers the solar panel and the how and why most houses will have one on the roof in the near future.

A solar panel is composed of a number of solar cells. Solar cells are usually made of silicon dioxide. When sunlight strikes these cells, it causes a reaction that moves an electron from silicon dioxide. The displacement of an electron moving from one cell to another cell causes a direct current (DC) of electricity to pass through the solar panel.

Direct current is generally used for radios and other equipment battery. It is not useful in most homes because they use alternating current (AC). This is partly a legacy form the grid. AC is easier to transport than DC....
